About the Show
Sports lovers and sports haters both agree that Chuckleball is one of the most unique theatrical entertainments as it combine exciting theater, great music, topical sports news and witty comedy in one fast paced, jam packed show!
Four actors and a pianist do impressions and parody songs mocking national and regional sports headlines and sports celebrities.
The beauty of Chuckleball is its ability to change and adapt. The material is constantly being rewritten and revised to stay current with what is happening in baseball, football, basketball, hockey, wrestling, etc. At least 40% of the performance is usually targeted to the regional teams. Therefore a show in Boston will roast the Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots and a show in Chicago will mock the Cubs, White Sox, Bulls and Bears. Both shows would include national headlines such as Tiger Woods, Danica Patrick and Andy Roddick.
New parodies can be written to suit the local interests of your audiences, just let us know.
Production History
The show has played New York City for extended runs Off-Broadway in 2004 and in 2007 and for a sit down production in Philadelphia in the summer and fall of 2009. The show has also played run outs to theaters, performing arts centers, colleges, corporate functions, private parties and golf outings. The material is always kept current and each season we roll out a brand new show. Past productions include Original Off-Broadway (2004), Performance Enhancers (2005), Working My Way Back From Juice (2005), There's Always Room For Balco (2006), Jailhouse Jocks (2007), Brotherly Glove (2009).
